I just installed a new master power window switch in my driver's side door. It is the 4 in a row style. I was having trouble with the old switch I thought. Similar trouble with the new switch. All the windows will go up and down from their individual switches. But the master switch only will work on two windows up and down(driver's window and passenger side rear). One button on the switch will put the window down but not back up (driver's side rear) and another button on the switch won't put the window up, but it will put it down(passenger side front). :Dou: How much of a hassle will it be to track down the problem?:Do No: David

Because the drivers door is opened and shut more the damage due to the flex of the wires there is often the problem.

Yup, what he said..........and it's a good idea to plan on cutting out and replacing a 10" section of each wire running through the harness coming from the door, the other wires are brittle and ready to break also. Heat shrinkable tubing and a soldering gun are the best way to fix this problem, plan on spending the day on it to do it right. :bglasses:

Very common problem on older power window cars (and cars with power seat control on door). Not a quick job, but everything is pretty straightforward after you get it all apart (door panel, kick panel, and probably the rubber boot. Some of these boots can be very difficult depending on the access to the attaching screws.
