https://www.ebay.com/itm/6HP-4-Stro...269427?hash=item36515cc9b3:g:GI8AAOSwgwFdM-Rq How do they even ship it for the total price??
I don't own a boat of any sort, but for $33 I might buy one just to see how it's put together. Maybe power my tube for floating the river.......
Says they've sold 13 already and there's more than 10 available. It's a Chinese company selling and shipping engines. I seriously might get one just to see for fun. I bought some stereo remotes from China off eBay for something stupid like 49 cents shipped and wondered the same thing: How can they do it? But they do.
Well when you steal the design from someone else, cut corners, don't have to worry about pollution or worker safety and pay close to slave labor wages that how you do it.
Shipping is the main question. We all understand how they can make them that cheap, but how do they make them and ship them to your door from China for that price?
Showed it to a buddy/tech that I work with and he's ordering this 6 hp jet drive we found in the related products for his boat, because why not go with a jet drive for $3 less? And with a name like Pantaneiro, it has to be good. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Outboard-e...764&pg=2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
I've heard a story on NPR and read several other articles lately about how these items are shipped free from China to America. This sums it up: "These super low shipping rates are being subsidized by the U.S. Postal Service. Yes, the United States and, in a roundabout way, the U.S. taxpayer is footing the bill so that Chinese merchants can ship their products to the USA for dirt cheap, essentially losing millions to support a dynamic where domestic American businesses are being undercut by foreign merchants who are immune to any and all intellectual property and consumer safety laws." https://www.forbes.com/sites/wadesh...chants-to-ship-to-the-usa-cheap/#4567d79f40ca https://community.ebay.com/t5/eBay-Chat/WHY-SHIPPING-FROM-CHINA-IS-SO-CHEAP-OR-FREE/td-p/29090495 But it might come to an end which would level the playing field for American sellers: https://www.theatlantic.com/technol...anges-terminal-dues-and-epacket-rates/573337/
there is no way no how this is legit. probably a scam to steal identity/credit card numbers etc. NFW! like Mom always said if its too good to be true than its not.
Imagine the inventory of stuff china has. why not sell it dirt cheap , if no one will buy at normal price. Its always better to sell than to sit and rot.
