Is anybody here running a set of TAs high luster ceramic coated headers for the 455? im going to buy a set and i wanted to get some opinions on the quality of the coating ,any help would be great, pics would be great also if you have any. i've had a set of poston headers for 10 years and its time for some new ones thanks .mike
I have a set and am very happy with them. They fit good and the coating was top notch. I think they send them to JetHot directly to have them done.
thanks for the replys, i bought most i of my 455 parts from TA and i was very happy with them . the headers are the only thing left that is from my old engine and they look like crap ..lol :TU: mike
I have come to the conclusion that economically, these ceramic coatings are a waste of money. It is better to save the money from the coating, and just buy yourself a new set of headers in 5-7 years. If you want to spend the money because of the way it looks, then great. But if you are buying them for the extra durability, I don't think its worth it. -Bob Cunningham
Jet Hot T/A sends them direct. They are "just down the street", so they have a good relationship with them.
The ceramic coating can be very helpful in keeping temps lower.. I do not know if the shiny polished ones have as much of a thermal barrier but I know the black thermal coatings you can get, will make a 200F pipe, 65f.
