I was trying to change a burnt out backup bulb on my '69 GS350 and can't get the lens off. I'm thinking that the gasket is old and is holding the lens tight. I'm afraid of breaking or cracking the lens if I force it but would like to get it off and remedy the situation. Any suggestions as to how I can safely loosen the lens?

Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

Try to soften the gasket with a hair dryer. That should help.

I'm not sure how they mount. If they mount like the '70-'72's with screws thru the lens, you can take a small phillips screw driver and stick it in the screw holes to help wiggle the lens around to loosen it up.

    Thanks I'll try that.

That's how they mount. I'll give it a shot.

I have used a piece of coat hanger wire. I bend one end to 90* and cut it at about 1/4" . stick that end into the screw holes and pull gently.
