    11.73 @ 113.
Wonder what gears he's running now?
At least he's putting the TA heads he bought to use!...nice job!

Nice. I was a bit concerned when he barely picked up anything at first w/them. Didn't he go from 3.42 to 4.10 before the heads? wonder what cam he's running.

IDK, as I'm not a facetime/book person. I bet more than 4.10 gears.
That vid was posted a month ago.

I thought it was Demko for a split second, then I said no way, he's waay behind....:D:D:D

We chatted on FB a few years ago and then on YouTube after he put the heads on. He's not too forthcoming w/info.

There you go! Solid roller setup, positive valve operation. Too bad on the info. One day I'll get some runs in. Wish I went with more stall. Those converters that JW sells have good street manners. :)

He had it pretty well dialed in with the iron heads running low 12s. His iron heads had a lot more work on them though and the TA heads are barely ported. He just touched them up a bit himself it I’m not mistaken. I think his iron heads were pro ported.

I sold a spare set of ported iron heads to James with the yellow turbo skylark, those heads ran 12s NA in a previous owners car so they should perform well under boost. When comparing my gessler ported heads to these ones they are very similar. It sounds like a monster with the traction issues he has etc, the track he is local to wasn’t open this year. I’m sure this spring he will get good results, I also sold him a Scotty brown custom turbo cam so his combo it all sorted out now engine wise anyways.

Pro porting is really the way to go with the alum heads, there are some design issues that really could have been avoided however it is what it is. It’s a very good place to start the porting science, much better than the irons.

Bill Mah used to talk about cracking castings when doing max effort port jobs, he went through like 14 sets of heads.

I’m excited about Brian’s twin turbo setup, he’s gonna really lean on the 350 with top end MPFI and all top end stuff. Likely a billet crank and one of my girdles. He’s currently running a 900 wheel HP 3.8 and he really knows his stuff, having spoken to him.

I will make sure I get my car to the track this summer, even if it’s will the iron heads. I’m actually considering running the car NA this summer if the heads are done porting. I have the stuff to run about 13:1, might be interesting plus the 4.56 gears and high stall converter would be a match. Of course if the alum heads are done by spring I will run the good engine.

Are you still planning to get alum heads or are you on the fence? Treat yourself to a $1500 port job on the alum heads and I bet it would give your vette a run for it’s money. Which cam are you running these days?

IIRC, when he just did the switch from iron to alum w/no other changes it only went about .15 quicker which could be attributed to the weight savings alone.

Yes I believe you are correct. It’s not that the TA heads are bad but they just need some expertise to reach thier full potential.

    It'd be i
I hope he winds up getting them more extensively ported. It also seems based on flow numbers/characteristics is when to pick a cam (or have one ground) but most seem to do that vice-versa.

Track looks like private rental, nobody in the stands. Must be nice!
Those SS guys can't port, run big compression,or run over stock lift, so duration is the secret. Big stall and gear keep it up in rpm range.
My adv. duration is over 300's.:)

I agree on the duration (& gear/rpm) which also corresponds to @Stevem's flow #'s showing it not significantly improving at high lift so seemingly long duration is the key.

Wonder what change made the 12 to 11.7 improvement. Add'l porting?

Suspension looks to be better dialed in - Not twisting when launching the way it was. I thought for sure he'd gone from 3.42 to 4.10 at some point too & now 4.30.

Probably a KB grind since the car was featured in their catalog. I'd think @TA Perf would share that info. I was very pleased w/both of them I ran back in the day (Mark 2 & C118).

He got to 12.4 with the 3.42 gear. Then he went to the 4.30.

    secret cam specs Mart?

You may be correct although I remember talking to him on FB several years ago before he was in the 12s and him saying he wanted to keep it streetable and so didn't want to higher but then did although I didn't remember it being as high as 4.30. He's a member of this board. Maybe he'll chime in.

    Same cam 1st 350 roller I believe. 107 lsa,.. 584 int/exh lift, 247/255@.050, 307/315 advertised, 35* overlap.
No vacuum, no brakes, but it goes like hell.:D
