    My 70 GSX Stage 1 currently is set up as follows;
455 stage1 bored out to 462, forged pistons, mild porting job
done behind the valves, performer alum. intake, 71 Q-jet 800cfm TA Jet-Hot coated Headers w/2-1/2" mandral bent exhaust w/ cross-over tube, turbo 400 transmission w/ shift kit, 8.2 posi with 3:64. pertronicsignition w/ super coil. Compitition Eng. 3-way adjust. shocks. BF Goodrich Radial TA's 295-50/15's on rear, 245-60/15's on front. 2500 stall converter
My best ET to date has been a 12.90@105.89.
    This was done with a Crane 218 intake duration / 448 lift/ 112 LC
    cam.
I have another new Crane cam to put in which is 464 lift 226 intake duration / 110 LC.
But Iam thinking of buying the TA Cam #TA 288-94H , It has
    488 lift 230/240 duration and 114LC.
I do not want to put on slicks as I don't want to chow the 8.2
posi rear end. But I want to go faster of coarse!
Currently I kill the tires on the take off, so I have to feather it
    out on launch.
I would like to create more top end to lower my ET's.
I have a set of steel head gaskets to go on too.
QUESTION: Has anyone used the TA cam listed above?
If so ,what is your experience?
Also, which cam would you experts recommend of these two?

I've used a Comp Cams 230/244 112L/C .501/.501" lift which is very similar to T/A's. I got easy 11.70's at 114 mph in 90 degree weather in a non A/C 71 Skylark w/3.73's. Its a strong street cam. You won't have any better luck hooking up but it will pull alot harder and give you a better mph and et.
I'd go with the T/A cam. :TU:

...and get another rear to swap in, so you won't have to worry about blowing up a rare and original rear!

I am running this cam in my 72 convertible. I have not had it at the track yet, but I can tell you it pulls like a freight train. I also run 3.73 gears...traction with my 275 rear tires is a problem.
The idle has just enough lope to let you know you swapped cams. It makes enough vacuum to run my power brakes, no problem.

I'm running the Poston 113A in my 462. Performer intake, J.Burek Ported Stage 1 heads, Headers, 800 Quadrajet, 3" exhaust, 700R4 with a lockup converter, 3.73 locker. I don't race the car at the strip so I don't have any times. Pretty typical street setup from what I gather, isn't to finicky, seems to run ok on 93 octane pump gas. I think there are newer cams out there that might be a better choice. Mike D.
