While cleaning up the transmission on my 67 Skylark (340-4), I noticed it had a 2-pin electrical connector of some sort on the driver side of the tranny. THere also are 2 unused spades on the switch device that at the throttle side of the carb. This appears to be consistent with how a switch pitch tranny would be connected, except it is missing the wiring that connects the too. Is there any other way to confirm that this is a switch pitch ST300? And, where can I get a replacement new or good used wire? Thanks! Byas
Do you have any passing gear now? If not, it's probably a switch pitch based on the info given. There should be 2 switches under the hood, a plunger type job next to the carb and another small micro switch near where the throttle rod from the carb + the throttle spring attach to the arm. Any wires at all laying around near the firewall? You can't buy the wire from the switch to tranny anywhere.
Take a look in the for sale section there is a setup on there that may be what you are looking for good luck :TU:
No, I don't seem to have any passing gear. There are indeed 2 switches as described by you. And there is a wire with 2 connector connecting the 2 switches together. And another wire from the voltage reg to the switch on the plunger. And, there are 2 more unused spades. Byas
