Can any one tell me if the rear glass out of a '55 4 door cadillac will swap into my '55 4 door roadmaster? I'm going on a little road trip friday afternoon to buy the glass, possibly the whole car, if it fits.
If you don't find an answer before your road trip, make a posterboard template of your Buick glass and just roll it up and take it along with you.
It is my bet. I'm pretty sure, that; The 2 door Cadillac and the 2 door big Buicks share all glass. (the side glass is flat and can be cut to fit in any good glass shop.)
I looked in my parts book. But, the book only lists for Buicks. I would need a cross index for the two (or, more) brands.
I fairly confident that it will fit so I think I'm just going to take a chance and get it. What's the worse that could happen. It will probably be a while before the glass goes in, but I'll post whether it fits or not.
It's what i would do. Worst thing that happens is; it does'nt fit. And then sell to a Cadillac guy. (my bet, $1, it fits)
do you know the model number of the cadillac it came out of? If you do, post it here along with your model number and I can check some interchange and part/rate books I have. jerry
I don't have the info off hand. But my buddy posted the same question over on the H.A.M.B. and somebody with the interchange info says as long as it is in the same series, it will fit. I took measurements while I was at the junkyard and I get the same measurements on my car so all should be good. Thanks for the offer though.
