Now that i'm 85% sure that the engine / trans issues are worked out in the Regal I want to turn my attn to the suspension. The front is stock upper n lower A arms, springs ect with 90 / 10 shocks. Not looking for cornering or an fancy stuff more for weight reduction. The rear is a ford 9" with ladder bars and coil over. Its way old and probably has countless passes on the set up. If you've seen the pics the car works well as is but could use some love as the lower shock bushings are rotted and falling out.
Any input is welcome. prefer used but serviceable / inexpensive parts.

Tubular upper control arms are lighter and have lower resistance bushings if you go with the delalum type. The lower control arms are heavier than stock but with delalum bushings, it will cycle up and transfer weight faster.

I believe Wilwood makes an aluminum direct replacement caliper for the front.

That's about all I've got based on what you already have.

If it's a true ladder bar you don't have control arms in the rear.

Up front , put the Dela lum bushings, Afco low friction ball joints and drill some 2in holes in the upper arms. Calvert 90/10's That's the budget approach

The better approach if your willing to spend a little $ is Autofab or TRZ arms with Viking Shocks and some 3.8/4.1 springs. The local soundtrack shop will have some super light weight uppers for a Gbody if you want to go that route.

If it's a Ladder bar with good joints you just need good shocks

Heres what I have now. I replaced the rotted rubber bushings with heim joints

Yea you need a true coil over setup, that spring over shock setup is from the dark ages. They run about $450 for a single adjustable setup. That will allow for a lower ride height to help keep the nose down and the car going forward

Qa1 has a "kit" simple to install.
I myself really line the Viking shocks for the simple fact they are double adjustable and are said to have much better quality control, guy who started Viking did so because he was an employee/designer at qa1 and felt they were lacking in certain areas to cut cost.

That said I would get some brackets from TRZ or someone and a stick off DOM , some 1/8 plate and go with Vikings they may even have a kit themselves by now

    Briz,
measure those coil overs for me (bolt hole to bolt hole) Also measure just the coil.. I may have a set that are in better shape and quality then what you have.. compressed and fully extended

Frank, Sorry but have not gotten that far yet. Work and other comments. Will get that info soon

Anson, Same answer as above. For some reason I just have not been feeling the ambition to go out and work on the Riv lately. Came home from the ROA show in Ocala a few weeks ago and parked it in the shop, covered her up.

Well at least you covered her up and snuggled her in. She might get jealous.!

is that a lincoln versai rear end you got . I was thinking something like the Lincoln versai disc brake set up would posibly be nice fit for the Riv. But its hard to beat the adjustable pinion angle of the 67 to 69 Riv . Its just imposible to find a posi Riv for my 68.
