I'm taking the u joints out of my 63 lesabre, just wondering how hard it is to change support bearing. Any tips?

Is that a two piece propeller shaft? If so, a special wrench is needed to loosen the nut that holds the two halves together. You can do it with a hammer and a punch, but I've never been comfortable with how tight you can get it using that method when reassembling. I took mine to a NAPA with a machine shop / driveshaft balance shop.

It is a two piece prop. I know what nut you're talking about, and I agree about the hammer and punch. Do you know what the special wrench is called? I know the Canadian tire and partsource around here rent tools out. Thanx for the info Yardley.
