I picked this up last week with the intention of putting it in my Camaro behind a 430 with Stage 1 heads. Can anyone confirm whether it's a Power Brute Super T 10? I has Liberty Proshifted gears so I'm not sure how important it is but I'd like to know for sure.
    Thanks for all your help.

That is a older 10 spline T10. Super has 28 spline...

Thanks, I had heard of 1st gen Super T10s and thought this might be one of them with the '73 dates cast in. I appreciate it.

If the tail shaft spline is course it's 63 or older. This was GMs first 4 speed offering in 57, it was replaced in 67ish by the Muncie and then came back as the Super T-10 around 70.

Both the case and tail housing are cast iron and dated 1973. I haven't counted the tailshaft splines but I think it takes the same yoke as my powerglide.

It is not the power Brute style for sure. They have a 904 case and aluminum tailpiece with fine spline input and Th400 output. The first generation of "Super T10" transmissions actually came out in 68' or 69' but were not actually used by GM then. When GM went back to using them in 74' they were aluminum main case as well as tail. The aluminum cases were 903 casting numbers. They had fine spline inputs with Th400 style outputs. Finding info on the generation you have is a bit difficult. They have some of the upgraded parts from the early transmissions internally but not all the upgrades.
