Curious if anyone out there has put a super charger in a 70 GS with a 455? What did you use and how is it working out?
Here's one. The guy used an ATI Procharger. It really sounds like a hot setup. The only down side is that it'll cost you about $4,000 to do the whole thing. http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=26143&highlight=ati
This guy was at the Nationals in '89. Don't know if he's still around, but I think he ran in the 10's. All blower set ups will cost you some serious cash if you set the whole motor up right as opposed to just bolting on a blower. This roots style blower (along with the screw blower, PSI, Whipple) will make more power on the bottom end. The centrifugal blower (ATI, Vortech) are kind of like turbo's and make power higher up in the rpm band. The roots/screw make power proportional to throttle opening, the centrifugal blowers make power in relation to rpm. Craig
Super Charger Sale I know a guy who is tring to throw together an order for a buy in ,into PRO CHARGER Co. So if anyone is interested in one they will cost about $1950.00 for a complete kit for carburated set ups. This deal is very limited so if you are interested I know the guy well , (since his wife works for me). All the options cost more polished stuff etc. These are $2300 after the buy in is over.
Mike, I have been kicking around this idea for some time now. I'm interested. Let me know some details including which Pro Charger it is and if brackets for a Buick would be available.
Email Jshorty33@Msn.Com and ask all the questions you need too. Make sure you tell them you are inquiring about the super charger buy in deal that I mentioned. (I being Mike Garrison) that way he knows not to give you the normal guy price...... :TU:
BDS makes a "roots" blower kit for the Buick 455. Don't remember the price. The "Doug Herbert" catalog has them in it. It is an 8-71, GM style blower.
