I will be spraying my chassis, firewall, and core support in the near future and was wondering what everyone recommends for the paint....

    Summit Chassis Shield

    or

    Eastwood Chassis Black

Eastwood Chassis black looks pretty nice. The Chassis black satin may be a bit more shiny than original for the frame but would look good on the core support. It is much shinier than original firewalls that were pretty flat. At least most of the originals I have seen had pretty flat firewalls.

I am beating myself to death trying to choose a chassis paint. This is not a concourse restoration, but I am trying to be correct.

Eastwood Satin chassis paints claim to have 60-70% gloss....

Eastwood also has a new ceramic chassis paint that is supposed to be about 20% gloss....

Summit's satin chassis paint is said to have 30-40% gloss....

What is the proper sheen for the frame as well as the core support inner fenders, and control arms?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

(right now, I am considering the summit paint for the under-hood parts and the Eastwood ceramic for the frame)

I use Dupont Centari flat black on everything. For the firewall, underside, and dash I use it as mixed, then use it with varying grams of gloss hardener to bring the gloss up a little for frames, fenderwells, radiator supports, heater boxes, suspension components, etc. One paint with different formula mixes makes it much easier IMO.
