Hey I was wondering if you guys could help me out with sum advice on what to get and what not to get! :Comp: Bear with me while I write this...first of I have a 70 LeSabre High Comp. 350 if that helps at all! 1.)I am going to replace my radiator now that its winter over here(michigan) and do a few other things but about the radiator should I get an aliminum one? I've heard some good things bout them that it keeps it cooler etc. And if so anyone know exactly where I should get one that would be soild. 2.)Where should can I get braided Hoses for my engine/valve covers? I would like to turn my engine in mostly chrome for shows(being as it is a show car and for me to practice all my school stuff 3.)Should I lower my car? I want to get people opinons about this on my car if you could 4.)FINALLY almost over for ya'll! I open to any suggestions to making my car look better so anything feedback on what to do would be great! thanks everyone for either viewing this or responding to it!
Hi there...that car look familiar...are you on myspace.com? Since you're asking about a radiator, what is the reason for replacement? Overheating? Leaking? A new 3 core radiator should do just fine (4 core radiators don't fit real well in the 70, but you can make it work.) Also make sure you have a good fan shroud and a good clutch fan. For engine appearance stuff, www.taperformance.com , and you can find braids for your hoses at Auto Zone. Welcome to the board, BTW!!:beer
Lol Yeah My friends got me into the myspace fad, got sick of alot of the people fast thinking they know better blah blah blah... To answer your question, i've slowly been replacing most of the original Parts, the car literally sat ina garage in nebraska for 21 years underneath about a hundred boxes in a stores garage...lol. That and I want to make it look the best I can and run alot better.
A good quality stock-type radiator should be fine with your 350. No need for aluminum. Use a 180 thermostat. My temp stays around 190 no matter how hot it is outside, has a Modine radiator put in by a previous owner.
Don't waste your money! Braided hose ...BAD!, So passe! Maybe an inch or two... no more! Keep it as close to stock as possible!
Welcome, and I'll second Unclelar - don't lower it, and find some factory rally wheels. Rather than do chrome and braided hoses, I like the "ultra-detailed and organized" look a lot more. Take the time to route everything neatly, it makes a much better-looking engine, plus it's easier to work on. Lots of chromed-out "showcars" out there, they all look the same. Not too many clean and straight original drivers anymore...but of course, that don't mean you can't do some subtle go-fast stuff! :Brow:
