Anybody out there aware of a complete rubber front end kit (not poly) for a '70 GS455 convertible, preferably Moog? I know parts can be ordered individually, but I'd love to find a package if one availble somewhere. Also, I've never rebuilt a front end and don't how much is involved, so any tips appreciated. I may end up hiring someone to take it on, in which case the kit would be ideal as well. Any help here appreciated, and thanks. :beer

OPG has one - MOOG OEM rubber - the current price is $399. I bought one 2 years ago and it was great. See https://www.opgi.com/GateBuick4.asp or http://www.opgi.com/

They sometimes have sales so if you can wait they may knock 10% off. They may also have a coupon out now from the holidays???

The task is not difficult. If you do a search on this site you will find alot of information and pictures.

I bought mine through rockauto.com, just ordered the individual pieces and the prices were competitive. Also, I shopped at Groundup Restorations (ss396.com) at their store in Ct and found them to be fantastic to deal with!

If you decide to go with OPGI, make sure you ask if the kit is in stock. Sometimes they run in a backorder situation.

I just bought all the steering suspensoin parts for my 70 Skylark at the local parts stores. You can get the parts cheaper buying them each indivadullay than if you buy the set. I spent about $300 an picked up the following parts:

2 upper/lower ball joints, upper/lower front control arm bushings,
2 inner/outer tie rod ends, 2 tie rod adjusters, idler arm, center link, front sway bar links & bushings & 8 rear control arm bushings.

They are not all Moog but all are good name brand parts. Most complete sets offered do not include the center link.

I'm with Dan, mine didn't cost me 400 for the kit getting them all seperately. although I also didn't get the center link but that cost me 75 bucks when it was on the alignment rack. and it was a moog part. I'd call your local parts place and say what your looking for and get a total. I had all my parts in hand in 2 days. (did take 2 trips to the autoparts store total for prepay and then pickup)

I went to Pep Boys & Autozone. Between the two stores they had all parts in stock. No special orders.
