I have a set of Eagle alum. wheels that came on the car i just bought..the front ones just shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiineee chrome, the back ones are really dull, i cannot get them to shine at all, I tried the wheel cleaner at the car wash, but they just stained them...Then tried some Eagle One cleaner, but that just cleaned them, they still look dull, any suggestions?
they are big wheels(295/50 tires on them), my dad said the polish is probably ruined cause they didnt keep them clean..But i have no idea

I use a mild abrasive cleaner like Soft Scrub or Brasso, then wax them. Aluminum shines up quickly. Dan

I detailed a car with chrome plated aluminum last week. It was a '01 Park Avenue Ultra. I guess it took about 20 minutes per wheel, just buffing and buffing with a cotton towel. My fingers hurt and my wrists were sore, but you should have seen these wheels shine!

The car looks SO much better now, the guy won't take it out of the garage until he is 100% guaranteed a sunny day (we've had a lot of rain lately, like a lot of people).

They make aluminum cleaner in a spray bottle that you can buy at any REAL hardware store. It takes off any and all oxidation. Probably takes off any clear coat finish also, but it should shine those puppies right up.
