ou: ou: ou: ou: For years Ive been complaining about not being able to find a weatherstrip/window guide for the right door on my 77. Ive contacted aftermarket places, called Buick junkyards, and on my last vacation in Florida spent a day looking for a rumored 77 Electra in a South Daytona junkyard. Finally a few weeks ago my perserverence paid off and I had the holy of holies a weatherstrip/window guide in pristine condition. Today I decide was the big day I was going to correct the wind whistle that had been bugging me for years and bring my Electra one step closer to perfection. I go down to the garage remove this priceless piece of trim that had me crawling in junkyards all over PA and Florida and get ready to install. I remove the brand new tube of weatherstrip glue from its package and put the window down on the car. As I start to feed the new strip down into the window channel I notice there is still one piece of the old channel in there. That has to come out. So I carefully pry the old piece up to the point where I can get a pair of needle nose pliers on it. I put the pliers on it and start to pull....... and pull ........ and pull until you guessed it . I pulled the original full length pristine weatherstrip/ window channel out of the door where it had fallen down. All these years I thought it was crumbled into a few seperate pieces and thats why there had been none of it up top originally and why it seemed like the rest had broken and fallen out. The weatherstrip glue had apparently dried out right after I bought the car and by putting the window up & down as much as I did .... gravity did the rest. Needless to say I applied new glue to the old weatherstrip as its in just as good of condition as the one I just bought and put it back in place. There are times when you wish you could just kick yourself right in the :moonu: . Welcome to one of those times . Anybody need a right side window channel for a 2 door 77-79 Electra ?:error: Dan
