    Rochester 2bbl carb... 2GV I think.
The carb is stipped where the fuel filter goes... that section where the fuel line screws in... I've been told by many that there's a tool out there that can repair this. Same folks also tell me go to any parts store and they will know what you need... I've been to 4 stores (NAPA, Kragen, Pep Boys, and some local speed shop) and no one is sure what I need...

so again... anyone know tha name of the part, a part number and manufacturer maybe... so I can repair the stripped threads on my rochester carb? Maybe even a pic... OR... what size is the carb inlet so I can at least have that info when the counter guy asks me...

Thanks. Got some gasket crap in there now that is holding, but for how long I dunno..

Call ahead to NAPA, before you go. They do have a part available for a quadrajet & I would assume the 2V as well. Fuel filter fitting/housing with "oversized threads". These will tap themselves into the carb. body & make a good mechanical seal as the original. The " name" of this piece I just don't know. I have one here for a Q-jet & it is NAPA/ECHLIN 2-76. This is also one of a couple different "oversizes".Believe I bought two for a spare carb. rebuild. Used the other which I think was a bit smaller.

If you are not confident in doing this, John Osborne has made this repair for me on a Stage 1 carb and did a great job. Mike

NAPA also has a contraption that uses "o" rings and will seal those stripped threads. It's #2-90A, and according to the book it fits 1" threads. There is also other sizes available. I've used those before and have had good luck with them. :)

That's exactly what I needed... thanks folks.
I remember last time I went in to NAPA the counterguy pulled out an old dusty catalog and I distinctly remember past number 2-90a being one of the ones I thought might work but we weren't sure.

    Thanks...

The one I bought as called a "self-tapping filter housing." It worked OK,but then started to leak too. I had enough and used JB Weld on it, adding an in line filter. No problems after that. This was on the '70 LeSabre in my signature.
