I have just came upon a crane cam #850631 H-226/290-2s-10. Lift @ valve In 464 Ex 480 with 1.6 Rockers Advertised Duration In 284 Ex 292 Cam Timing @ .050 Lift In 8* BTDC 38*ABDC Duration 226 Ex 52*BBDC 2*ATDC Duration 234 2500 to 5500 RPM Range My engine combo is a 030 over 455 with stock stroke 10 to 1 pistions, B4B intake, headers, 3" exhaust, 200-4R with 2500 stall, 3.55 rear gear, 26" tires, in a 70 Gs with disc brakes, A/C and 3700 lbs+. The question I have is how will this cam work on the street with power brake and A/C. And how will it cruse down the road with the OD trans at about 2100 rpm? Is there any one with a cam close to this one out there? Or is there is a better cam choise. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Vic
A 226*/234* on 110* LSA will have 10* of overlap (@0.050"). Which will have a slight lope but you will have no problems with vacuum for power brakes. Sounds very similar to the fast ramp Comp Cams type xtreme grinds.
Vic, Sorry to jump your thread but I was wondering how your 200-4r works. How long have you had it and how's it holding up? If you don't mind, how much did it run you and where did you get it? As for the cam, from all the research I've done it should work fine for your application. Is there a better cam out there? Maybe but then there are so many grinds out there it made my head spin trying to pick one and there is no secret formula for picking one. Good luck and thanks
