Well I got my first kill and my motor is barely broken in. We had a go on a straight stretch on a newly paved county road. He was begging and and making fun of the buick cause I didn't want too. A brother in law with a Duster and a halfway built 360 with 3.55 limited slip rear in it. I did a few little burnouts with my 2.56 open rear on the way. You know, the one tire burnout. His was walking sideways when he done his thing. My brother was sitting in the passenger seat as a witness for me. We lined up with the duster in the hammer lane and I said Go. He jumped a car length before I hit the pedal and I just rolled into it knowing that with my rearend the way it was I was just gonna sit and spin. He walked sideways close to the front of my car. His tires barely smoking and then it hooked and jumped out to 3 car lengths. Then I thought oh **CK. He is gonna beat me again. Because about 3 months ago he put his new Dodge 4x4 up against my '96 dodge dually and smoked my *ss in the quarter. So I lit a fire under the hood and stomped her down and thought that 1 tire be damned and screw the motor. And she was spinning and smoking all the way to 45mph. By that time he had increased his lead to around 4 1/2 car lengths. Mine finally hooked and took off. I caught up with him around 75 to 80 mph. And blew past him like he was standing still. I glanced at tach and she was hitting 5000 grand still in 2nd gear and I just hit 90 mph. Getting ready to hit 3rd gear and looked in mirror and seen he gave it up. When we got back to the house, my mothers cause we was having a BBQ with the whole family. They could hear all the motor and tire noise going on down the road. They wanted to know who won and I just smiled:Brow: cause I had my revenge for the diesel whipping he gave me out there last time. :spank: And they all said mine sounded so good and loud that they heard it a half mile away when we ran. And all my brother in law could say was I don't have 5 grand in my motor like you do. And I replied with a straight face and said that was the whole car not just the motor. And then I let him have it:blast:. I told him he got a 1 car jump before I stepped on gas and he got another couple cars cause I didn't floor it till then. And here is my witness. And he had a sad look on his face when I told him that. Awwwww :pp . So then he fires up his Diesel and says lets do it again to save face. And I turned him down saying one whipping is good enugh for the day.:3gears: So I learned something today. Brute Torque over came his 3.55 gears and if my rear was set up right he never would had got a jump and the race wouldn't had even been that close. So that finalised what I'm gonna do to the rearend.:kodak:

    Cheers! Nice work.

What's it going to take till they start realizing that a Buick, especially a BBB is going to put a hurting on them like no other. Sure, it may say Buick and it may convey grandpa's car but it will hurt them so bad it'll leave them curled up in the corner with their thumb in their mouths.

Unfortunately, I'm building my buick 350, can't afford the 455 swap. But I have high hopes and look to embarasse and surprise a few people with my lowly Buick small block.
