Watched Monday night and just remembered a thing that JJ from Memphis said "It ain't fun when the rabbit get's the gun" Thought that a lot could be applied to that.LOL Johnny
I watch just to laugh my a$$ off. Like the Mustang guy that wrecked his car.......im glad he seemed to be ok........but most normal ppl if the throttle would had stuck that soon would had just reached and turned the ignition off b4 it got out of shape. It almost sounded to me like he was on and off a few times, it surely sounded down right b4 he hit the car. If he was seriously trying to flat drive it he deserves to wreck.
Just remember, if they don't create some drama here & there. It is like watching NHRA. I like watching regular old drag racing, but a lot of people(especially the younger crowd) don't. So, the added drama keeps people interested!!
Yah I watch all these shows with a grain of salt. I watch some "fast and loud" when ever I sit down long enough to watch some TV. They have some funny shop antics and it's cool some of the cars the dig up like firebird 1 and 2. But then they add all the drama and hafta lower everything and put rims on it. Or I cringe for 30 minutes as the hack up a real 71 challenger RT
JJ does have an 'original' way of self expression. The Mustang should have never left the starting line after the backfire. Not safe. They should have checked everything out before running. Bent throttle blades are the first thing that would have been caught. Shifting into neutral and shutting down the engine would have been better than crashing.
My buddy had that happen after his uncle (who knew everything) helped him swap a spread bore intake onto his '69 LeMans that had a double pumper. We were taking it for a test drive, my friend stomped on it and all the sudden we're weaving in and out of traffic. I could feel the car trying to slow down and speed up, looked over and there's my buddy crapping his pants hitting the brakes with both feet but the car just kept going. He screamed "what do I do?!!?" I shoved the shifter into neutral for him and to told him to pull over, which he did with the car floating the valves. Told him to shut it off, we got out, and went to the only building around, a fancy smancy country club. You could almost hear the record player scratch as two high school kids in metallica and pantera shirts walked in like on a movie and asked to use the phone hahaha....diagnosis, front throttle blades stuck open on the spread bore intake, double pumper having mechanal secondaries meant all 4 wide open ....some people get in a panic moment and can't think straight. He would've plowed that LeMans into a car or wall if he'd been alone. I was a fireman for quite a few years and saw many car accidents that could've been avoided if the person would've kept their thoughts clear, but it's human nature to lose your $h!t in those situations.
The races and crashes are 100% legit. The rest is tv drama, but they don't fake the important parts, which is why I record it and fast forward.
