I guess all I can say is "why?". I'm driving home on the highway tonight in my 80 LeSabre. Probably tooling along at 60. Some young punk dude driving a Cadillac Catera acts like he's gonna pass me, but instead he stays beside me for about a half mile. I hate that. So I accelerate a little, and so does he. Finally I decide I'm gonna floor it, but before my foot hits the floor, he takes off. I quickly floor it and get about a half a fender on him. And thats how it stayed for about a half mile of WOT and speeds well north of 100. We finally let up in traffic, and I turned to go home. I'm unsure why a Catera driver would wanna have a top-end showdown with my poverty-looking LeSabre, but I'm sure of this...............You lost Catera boy!
It's because he recognized your old car as being fast! It's one more step away from the fast&delirious. :TU:
He thought you were an easy kill. I bet he was embarrassed. Funny kill! I had an 80 LeSabre too. Mine had the 2bbl v-6. What a boat anchor in such a big car. Once I had two friends in the car and there was a 87-90 Mustang next to me at the light. I said to my friends that I bet I could beat him across the intersection ( I knew he'd kill me after that). As the windows were down, he must have heard me. A full second before the light went green he took off! I was so stunned he would do that I didn't even race. He must have thought I had a bigblock or something. Maybe he was tired of getting spanked by our boats and decided to cheat to keep it from happening again! o No: :grin:
