Ok, A long time ago, I saw a picture of a Satalite, early 70's that was decked out to look like a cop car, lights and everything. Rearend was sittin real high, large slicks on the back and Sidepipes. I've looked everywhere and cannot find this car again. It was in an old hotrod magazine.

If anyone has any pictures of muscle cars as Cop Car lookalikes, could you post them for me, maybee I'll get lucky and find the mystery cop car... A buick cop car would be ideal,,,,,, please help me........ If anyone can find this, I know this is the place to be.

Classic muscle cars dressed up as cop cars? Go to

    www.beattheheatinc.org

They had the national "Beat the Heat" drag finals at Moroso recently down here in Florida. I went to the local cruise night in Fort Lauderdale, where there are generally 100 to 200 cars -- muscle and rice, old and new, 1950's to 2000's.

Anyway, I saw an old Chevelle with a roof rack of lights on it. Hey, pretty cool. Then the next car was an old Bel Air dressed up as a cop car. Whoa, what a coincidence. It was when I saw the third cop car that I finally looked around and saw that there were a whole lot of police-edition or dressed up muscle cars -- maybe thirty or so. Which is when I found out about the "Beat the Heat" races.

Sounded awesome when they drove out, even more impressive with all the lights flashing. Very cool, and for a good cause. Whole lotta sweet (and fast) machines.

D.A.R.E. Drug Abuse Resistance Education Program
My youngest currently getting the program at school now, Grade 5.
My two older boys had it as well in Grade 5. Local Police come into the classroom & educate these young minds on many nasty things available out on the street, cigarette smoking included.
Tender age @ 10 but most impressionable too. Gotta give a big "Thumbs Up" for this program.
