I replaced my alum. rockers with brand new steel ones on my 72 350. My problem is I now keep getting rocker lash and have to adjust the pushrods. I never took the valve covers off after I finished the engine last year. After I installed the steel ones I keep getting loose rockers. I drove the car yesterday and it was fine. Took it out today and now have one clicking. Any ideas? I'm confused.
The shafts and rockers are all new. Now for what I found. The tops of four of the push rods are worn down. The metal is to soft. I called postans and they said I'm the fourth person to have this problem. He said last year he got a bad batch with this lower grade metal. The bottom of the push rods still look new but the tops are unbelievable. I was shocked. I would have never guessed that was the problem. He's sending me out some new tips.
