I'm in the process of installinga 455 into my skylark. I was researching buick and found at one point there was a experimental block or engine developed, 4- bolt main, or something.. anyways, the block was identified with a welded x on it... Anyways I noticed this same welded x on my intake. it's a 74 Buick 455. Anyone know what this means....?

    Being a 74...

I'd say it had a crack & someone welded it. :Do No:

Doo Wop Where were you in '62?

Appears this "X" may be on more than one intake.

If we really want to know...

We just need to ask the expert..... Dennis Manner. :Smarty:

There could have been some kind of an experimental modification on the intake(s), just not the high performance that seems to be assumed. :Do No:
