I know this has been answered before but ...I just put 4 new headlights in my 69 GS and when you switch to HIGH beams only the inner lights come on the outer LOW beams go off...switching back to LOW beams and they (the outer) come on as normal???
I can't get the low & high beams to come on at the same time??
But they both work apart from each other??

    Thanks !!!

This appears to be a wiring issue. The same voltage goes to the high beam filaments of the dual beams as goes to the high beams. If the high beams operate correctly, the wiring to the front end is correct. I will check my wiring diargrams tonight and advise. Ray

One addendum to make here is the issue of ground. All circuits, regardless of their purpose must have voltage and ground. Lacking either will adversely affect the performance. Ray

Just playing devils advocate, but you did make sure to get two different kinds of lights, right? Two should have two prongs(high beams) and two should have 3(high/low beams).

    Thanks !

Thanks for all the help guys, I checked everything last night and they all work now...the High beam conector was loose and the low beam wire has a crack in the harness. 30+ years will do that kind of stuff that's why I put a new engine harness on!!
