Man, you must have a heavy heart today. Sorry about your hardship. There's some real scumbags out there that should be recycled into fertilizer! :af:

sorry to hear of your loss may the thieves have their limbs cut off,and then pistol whipped into submission!!!!!
Rollback? How did they get it? Just curious about the method of stealing the car and where bouts on the property it was located. No way I am leaving mine anywhere other than the stable... I will keep keep a lookout. Good Luck Bert Bert
That sucks, Dan. Do you have some pics from the car? Are there special things to look at, like some scratches or something else? I wil keep my eyes open here in The Netherlands.
Dude, so sorry to hear this. Please post some photos and any unique characteristics. I will keep my eyes wide open.
the car was at a combination car show drag race at the atlanta motor speedway. the car show area was behind the drag strip,so that when you watched the races, your back was to the show cars. at approx. 11:30 pm,i walked from the finish line to the starting line and walked thru the show area right by may car. there were not but 5 or 6 cars left in the area at that time. at approx. midnight, the top classes of race cars held their finals. after the last race,i left to go back to my car and it was gone, this was at apporx. 12:30 am. in addition to my car,an entire race car rig was stolen as well as at least 2 other vehicles. this was obviously the work of a group of people who knew what they were doing and the cars are probably far far away from atlanta by now
OK. So, I know how to hotwire a 60's - 70's era car, but how do the thieves compensate for the locked steering wheel in a 1969 and later car? I know the 90's era cars could be hotwired by breaking the column near the shifter, which also released the wheel lock, but how do they manuever a locked column car like your '70? Also, did you have a club or other such device on it? I always turn off my fuel pumps and use a club when leaving my car unattended at an event or store or such. This is why we'll be patrolling the Red Roof Inn at all hours in less than 2 weeks. We just don't want to give them the chance. Sorry about your loss. That is among the worst things that can happen.
Yardley, Steering column locks, the ones that the car is equipped with from the factory are not that difficult to break. Its just a small pin that slides into part of the column to prevent turning, get enough torque by pulling on one of the spokes of the wheel and it will shear off. An experienced theif has no trouble with the stock lock. Not sure about aftermarket stuff though.
Dan, Sorry to hear about your car. That sucks. Color combo sounds similar to mine. I would be real ticked off someone stole my baby. I hope you get it back in one piece. Good luck. Lon
my 70 electra 225 convert quit on me sunday night right after going to an old car gathering. i had to leave her behind till the next day, that would be today to fix her. all it was was a fuel line pulled free. i couldn't see that at midnight sunday. talk about being worried sick all day till i could get to the car and get it moving again. all's well and nobody trashed my car, sorry about your wheels, had it happen in the past and i feel your pain.
Could this be the motor? Seem kinda fishy even if its not yours. Not a '73 motor. Doubt it came out of a '73 electra. Has no feedback.
