Can anyone tell me what the stall speed is of a '70 Turbo400, 455 Stage 1 car? I'm looking at changing the cam in the car while I have the motor out and it says that I need a higher stall converter, but doesn't say exactly what I need. It just says that the power range is 1500-5500 RPM.
Scott, I think it was somewhere around 1600. With that cam, I'd try the stock converter first. It should be just fine. If you do change the converter, no more than 2000 stall would be necessary IMHO.
