Stock con rod differences

    My 70 rods have an oil hole at the mating surface on the big end, I noticed the 76's didn't have them. What are they for, and why don't the latter rods have 'em? Thanks Tom

    I thought those were for oiling to the cam, and that they were eventually proven to be unnecessary. I have engines that have a few with and a few without. We could find no difference otherwise.
