Stinger S4 Ignition better than points?

I have a new Stinger S4 ignition that retro-fits a stock distributor. It's sat on the shelf for many years and I am now contemplating taking the points out of the distributor and installing the Stinger module. Is this a good idea or should I simply stay with the original points and leave well enough alone?

    Appreciate the feedback!

They worked for a lot of years, and guys still run them..

Bad part is.. no parts anymore, other than used.

Good part is you have everything new.. I would go for it.

I am still running a old S4 convertion dist in mine, mostly because I can't afford a MSD or whatever. I did discover that a Mopar pickup will fit in the S4 dist. Tom

Go for it, it's better than points. And if the Stinger isn't hot enough, you can use it to trigger any MSD, or aftermarket ignition box.
