I think I may have something like that buried in the garage. Do you have a description or picture of the suspect? :Brow: I'll go dig around when I get back to the garage.

    Heat Sheild

Don't have a picture at this time. However it is bolted to the block and/or pass side motor mount. It kind of looks like a elbow shape. It protects the motor mount from the heat of the exhaust manifold.
    Thanks

There's a possibility that I would have one also. If I get a chance I will look tomorrow.

Found one. Kind of rusty but it's mostly on the surface. I honestly don't know if it's from the 68 or 70 motor. I'll post some pics in a few if a little rust doesn't scare you.

    sounnds good

Surface rust does not scare me as long as it will survive sand blasting.

    Thanks

Here's the pics. It appears to be just surface rust in all except one place. That is a close up of the mounting hole in the center. Repairable I suppose. Rest of the metal is solid and should sandblast OK. I don't honestly know if this is from the 68 400 or the 70 455 pile. I only ended up with one that I can find. Is this what you're looking for?

Now I know why it's called a motor mount heat shield! Sorry I don't have what you're looking for. Good luck!

I can't believe someone doesn't have one of these just sitting around. I was hoping the pictures would help out. Any leads would be great
