I was looking at an old post from nitro71455 of his stef's oil pan. Can anyone who is using this pan tell me if it uses larger 5/8" pickup and how much ground clearance does it have. I know my current 8 qt pan does sit below the fron cross member and often smacks the pavement when the road dips. do you buick guys recommend this pan or any other 8qt capacity pan for that matter. I want to install the halo main girdle and will need the extra clearance.

Allen, yes, it uses a 5/8 pick-up tube. I don't have one right now to measure the depth, I'll have one in next week and measure it. Jim Burek

    Hi Allen,

Contact Steve Reynolds @ SRE Performance Fabrications, Inc. He's a true Buick guy who makes some awesome aluminum pans and valve covers among other ventures he's branching out into. You can either e-mail him thru the board or his number is 920-684-6776. I've dealt with him previously and his stuff is A-1..prices are good too!

Here is a pic of the two aluminum 455 pans he offers at this time. One can be used with the TA main and or HALO girdle(s) and stock crossmember, and the other without. Give Steve a call as he can also custom alter either pan for your paticular needs as he did for me!:TU:
