I have my dash pulled out and want to go ahead and paint the metal frame and steering column as well. But, the steering wheel lock is worn out and needs to be overhauled. What parts will I need and is there a "How To" thread anywhere - I can't find one.

    Thanks

Maybe these scans about working on a tilt-steering column will help:

    Erik,

Thanks for sharing the scans. I'll print them out and read through carefully. I'm guessing there will be parts that I'll need to replace so once I get into it hopefully that will become obvious.

OTOH - is there some sort of "rebuild kit" that I can order so I have parts onhand?

    Thanks

There's not a massive amount of stuff in there that typically goes awry. Are you tearing the column completely apart or just going in far enough to deal with the key/lock cylinder?

    Tilt or non-tilt?
