Starting another set of heads

    Mark have you talked to Michael yet about cost?
    I talked to him a couple weeks ago about R&R ing
    bronze guides,valve job, and surface clean up and possibly setting up springs he told me ballpark $750-800.I was kinda shocked.

    Carman Faso did the conversion on my heads alittle over 20yrs ago,stainless back cut valves,bronze guides, dual springs,bowl and pocket ported $700.

    Add in oversized valves and springs and you are up over half way to the $2800 Alum heads.

    Yes, that was one of the first things I did, it took a bit as I had to clearance the pan rail for the nuts on the main studs at the rear and front, it was mostly weld bead that hit, after looking at it I figured it’s welded on both sides of the pan rail so if I went thru the bead on the inside it’s no big deal.
