The starter in my 65 sky-top 300 engine is starting the dreaded solenoid click
My guess worn brushes (replaced starter in 1977)
(starter runs twice a day 6 days a week average)
Got replacement brushes, done alternators all the time
Wonder if its worth the effort, or just get a rebuilt.
Now, when the starter engages usually after 2 clicks, it runs strong could it still be brushes?

Also will a Chevy starter fit?

brushes or solenoid contact, the stud in the cap.if its that old, bushings while your at it,starter drive also.chevy, cadillac(rwd) with the same bolt pattern(1 long-1 short)350 chev wont work, will bolt up.however you might consider one of these!! :bglasses: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=15678
