The starter drive on the starter on my '72 started to cause the odd problem. I removed the starter and not knowing how many miles/years were attributed to the starter decided to have it overhauled by a professional. Before reinstalling the starter, I cleaned the connectors on all the wires that attach to the unit. as I attempted to clean the connector on the yellow wire, the connector came off in my hand. I replaced the connector. so by performing the cleaning I saved myself a problem down the road. thus, a piece of advice if/when u have to replace your starter, check the wires!
