Where are the date codes on a starter (and how to decipher them)? Do you think it's important to keep a date coded starter motor and rebuild it? I'm replacing my starter motor and I need to know if I should give back the starter currently on my car as a core. I have no idea (yet) if it's original, but it never hurts to ask first. Thoughts/opinions? TIA
For about $35 at least here you could have your motor overhauled. Then you repaint it and refinish it.
