I don't know? But I'll look into it.

I have a Poston Stage 2 scoop, and a VFN Stage 2 scoop...

If the Poston scoop is closer to the original KB Stage 2 scoop, I can probably use the dimensions of that scoop, to use to get the estimates to make new ones.

Was the original Stage 2 hoodscoop metal, or fiberglass?:Do No:

The original was metal. It also has a couple of distinct features that, I believe, none of the fiberglass ones have. But Guy is the expert, so best to talk with him.

I was contemplating $300...but soon found out someone else wanted or needed it more than I did..

I was seriously considering going $500 on it (just to have a complete collection of Stage 2 hoodscoops, of each brand: Kenne Bell/Poston/VFN)...:eek2:

but decided to contain myself, and put the money towards the sheetmetal I need to get my Stage 1 painted and back on the road, as priority, instead!:Smarty:

I decided a concrete floor in the garage would be more beneficial than an air cleaner for the car which sits in it... So I just put the money away for now...

Pardon my ignorance, but just because one is metal, and one is fiberglass, if they are both the same shape, what would be "distinct features" that would change either one's appearance or function, if a hoodscoop is only designed to direct air into the carburetor?:Do No:

The original metal ones have a rolled lip around the opening. Not really functional per-se, but they're different.

I think the Poston and Kenne Bell fiberglass ones have the correct mounting flange, but I'm not sure of the VFN ones. Anyone have a picture of the Poston one and the VFN one?

Also, I know the VFN ones are a little flatter across the top opening, whereas the originals and the Kenne Bell ones are a little more rounded. I've heard some of the VFN ones are darn near concave and look kinda crappy compared to the others.

It's all basically about looks, but i would think think the original opening lip might help direct air down when it hits the leading edge. Not to any significant amount, but any little bit helps, right?

    Touche, Pat.

However, if you were bidding on your concrete floor on Ebay, I would already be making arrangements with the Seller to make payment & delivery, a day before the auction will end, and I will outbid you every time, leaving you confused & frustrated, to wonder how you didn't win the auction! :TU:

I could've easily won the Stage 2 hoodscoop from the current owner, only chose not to, this time, but maybe he won't be so lucky on the next item he tries for, IF I REALLY want the item more than anyone else does...:Do No: :Brow:

Ebay is not about how much money you have, it's only about knowing how the system works; if you don't snipe, you don't win, unless no one else is interested enough in the item you happen to be bidding on, then you have a chance.

The VFN scoops only have steel clips pressed between the fiberglass bottom edge, which are very flimsy & fragile (can break off clips or fiberglass if not careful when handling VFN scoop). More for looks than function.

The Poston scoop is pretty durable (from my own experience, shortly after a restoration, the bodyshop forgot to reinstall my hood latch after disassembling the car for paint, which came loose at 70mph, and caused my hood to slam open against my windshield, leaving a perfect Stage 2 imprint in the glass, without shattering it completely! The Poston Stage 2 scoop was only cracked on the side, but still intact, in one piece! I still have what remains of the buckled hood, and the hoodscoop!)!

Sounds like the Poston ones might be about as good as the Kenne Bell ones.
