Why does life have to be unfair? Just did some quick dyno tests on my TA SE Stage 2 equipped motor yesterday.Purposely held down power production with a Performer intake to assure reliability but wanted to get over the 500hp mark.Well it did-508 hp on a very conservative dyno. This was without optimal tuning-carb simply bolted on and 30 degrees ignition timing. This is the good part. The bad part is that I have had a very worrisome financial crisis and may have to sell the GS.It will kill me if this comes to pass.Pray that it won't.Thought there would be interest in the results.I am working away from my home right at this moment and my brother was at the engine shop and has the "pull" sheets. Will give further details when I can.Take care-Rod

Jeez Rod, hope you can keep the car. Must be a fairly sticky situation for you to consider selling the car. I can imagine only a few where sale of a vehicle would help out. It's none of my business and I'm not asking, just hope it works out

Rod, I hope everything works itself out & you get to keep the car....GS's are definitely a rare commodity on the east coast. BTW what was the exact combo?

Thanks for the words of encouragement Chris,Frank and Clint. It will be a month or so before I know for sure.As to the exact combo-Hemi-killer,10.2:1,106*centerline,KB roller rockers,TA springs, locks, retainers, pushrods,Stinger ignition,BIGS 950 Holley,center-divider cut down Performerwith slightly relocated carb mount,no spacer,TriShield manifold shield, heads that flowed 306/260 at .500-nothing real fancy.Torque is moved up the rev scale and is down by about 40 to 50 ft. lbs. at the low end.HP is up by 70+through the 5000 rpm range compared to my previous ported Stage 1 heads and 800 Qjet combo. The heads and carb were the only changes. The dyno at this shop is far from happy-I would gladly put the results up against the Car Craft motor with the Performer setup.HP didn't vary from 5500 to 5800 where it was shut down.No attempt was made to optimize timing or jetting to save time and money.Am happy with the results.Frank-the work was done at A&J Automotive the home of the NHRA Super Stock B record holder.Take care all-Rod

Rod, once again hang in there & hopefully everything will work out....they usually do. That's quite the beast you've got there with those St 2 heads.....that's a major amount of air flowing through those things. A bigger cam would probably give you another significant boost in HP. A & J did some work for me in the past and they definitely know their stuff but they certainly won't run up your phone bill ...definitely men of few words lol.

It seems your financial crisis allowed you to keep everything you wanted to keep. I know "your" family would want your first love -the Buick to be saved above all else.Good Luck to you.
