I would like to find a 69 4 spd :3gears: convertible Stage One, matching numbers drivetrain. Yes I know I'm looking for the impossible, but got to get the word out some where and this should be the best place. :TU: Now if your all done laughing   my phone is 208-539-5197, email is mike@sobotka.myrf.net :Comp: Might take the rest of my life to find one :) but what the hell  oh and I'd be interested in the same version of a 70 or 71   someday somewhere I'll find them :TU:

Actually, I drove one once. Or at least what I thought was one until a board member here gave me the lowdown. Must have been a great stamping job, because all the numbers matched and "looked" legit. Truth be told it probably was a fake because the body work looked like a real Earl Sheib job and I couldn't see doing anything less than stellar bodywork on a 69 Stage vert 4spd car.

This guy knew GS's and he was calling me up begging me to buy it. That's all I needed to be convinced NOT to buy it.

Good luck though. Now you will have me looking for you.

I drove one for about 4 years. Great car. Hard to find, and not pulling big money if you do. Good luck. Tony

I think that is the Holy Grail. I have seen one...on evil bay. Good luck... If you find it, please take pics. I am sort of looking for one to match my 69 Stage 1 4-speed. Good luck.

    Hey Mike,
You are not going to believe this but, there is one here in FL near me. Guy says he won't sell but he is not doing anything with it. He is out of town till November, he summers up north somewhere. Remind me about this and I'll ask him again when I go to pick up a Stage 1 motor and BB trans he's been holding for me. I plan to pick it up in Nov.

    69 stage 1

Seems to be a run on 69 Stage 1 cars lately!! :TU: 4speed73stage1, Bill, Chris and Alan have all scored cars in recent weeks. Man, I've got to get out of that damn tractor 14 hrs a day and intensify my search for one of these great cars. Congrats to you guys on your recent finds :TU: :TU: Any and all assistance in finding one would be much appreciated :) :)

yeah Mike, but I don't think any of the above cars meet your criteria.

Mike's is an auto convertible I think
    Bill's is an auto hardtop
    Mine is an auto hardtop
    Alan's is a 4 speed hardtop.

Maybe you need to be a little less picky, and you could have bought one of these. Matter of fact, I talked to you about the one Alan bought after he passed on it the first time, :pp before he changed his mind and bought it when the seller lowered the price.

You would probably have to pry Alan's out of his cold hands after he dies, but maybe once he has it safe at home, he would part with the contact info for the guy he knows that has the 4 speed stage 1 convertible that he looked at before and didn't buy

And you know that Bill are all full up with cars and we usually have to sell one when the next great car comes along that we can't live without, becuase we are inflicted with that terrible disease called "igottahaveit, evenifihavenoroomforit-itis".

Don't know if Mike wants to sell his new find, but if he does, he should let me know, becuase "igottahaveit"! :3gears:

Too picky?? Yes Chris I believe you are correct. Hardtop or auto would be OK as long as it has docs and original drivetrain. Thanks for the eye opener, sometimes I need that :spank:

    Mike,

Speak with Nick Serwo at Ivyland collision, I believe he has a 69 Stage 4 speed, non air, convertible - tripe black ready for restoration. A guy by the name of Jeff bought it and (I think) Nick is restoring it. Not sure it's for sale but it might be worth a call.
