I picked up these emblems a while back, but I don't know how I can determine if these emblems are originals, or reproductions? I want to make sure that when the time comes to sell them I don't mislead anyone.

I know they are the later version with the narrow pin spacing.

Wide spacing was the later style...narrow pin was never reproduced best of my knowledge

Wide pins were early, narrow later on.

I thought it was the other way around be cause the emblems were lifting off the fenders? Well hell I've got a pile of wide pins....I'd lost money on that bet ha

I know the GM replacements were the 73~74 style

Fred is correct Ethan:). Wide pin were '70-72. Narrow pin '73-4. IIRC there's some other very subtle difference too.

Randy, I don't believe the narrow pin were ever reproduced & even the orig. GM don't bring a lot. Been a pair on eBay (or maybe it was on here) for $75 that haven't sold.

I do believe the narrow pin stage 1 emblems were reproduced because that’s how the stage 2 emblems are same spacing.

Thanks to all for the responses. Dan, I know I will not get rich from these items, but if I can at least recoup some of my investment I will be happy. When I bought the hood tach a couple weeks ago, I picked up a bunch of other stuff, like stage 1 fuel pumps, two sets of rad cushions, in dash tach, bumper fillers, side marker lights and gaskets, T3 lights and much more. Most of the stuff is driver quality and would be great for guys in the survivor class, as most, if not all the parts are all original.

    Cheers

Max Damage I'm working on it!

So if "early" is 1970, what did the '69 stage 1 badges look like?

    Totally different smaller script

'70-72 in this case is "early" (i.e. wide pin) & '73-4 "late" (narrow pin). As Frank said, '69 is a totally different animal.

Could be. W/so many NOS around I'm suprised but also I don't keep up so much w/the repro parts offerings.
