Was there a st300 that had a pressed on speedo gear onto the output shaft? The reason I ask is the speedo. did not work on this 67 ragtop Skylark I have. I took off the ext. housing and the gear was dangeling loose on the ouput shaft well ahead of where it should be. o No: I took off another st300's ext. housing and there was a hole in the output shaft to which a clip holds the gear in place. There was also no clip in the one with no hole in the output shaft but both output shaft gears were indexed for the clip. I drilled a hole for the clip. Speedo. works but I never seen this before.
