Does anyone know where you can buy a new kickdown switch for a 65 skylark ? Has anyone tried to use another setup for the kickdown ? . Also what do you guys think about leaving the high stall activated all the time?
    thanks for all the help

Don't know where you can get a new kickdown switch for the 65. Maybe you can adapt the later gas pedal mounted switches to your setup. Leaving the SP in high stall is not recommended. The solenoid will be energized all the time. It isn't rated for continual use. Replacing it entails trans removal because it's on the front pump.

Thanks for the info . What models use the kickdown switch on the gas pedal and is this easy to get ?
The reason i was asking about the high stall was because I'm converting over to a 4bl intake this weekend and until i can rig something up i would like to have the high stall . I haven't decide if I'm just going to use a hand operated switch in side the car or try to use the original setup . What has everone else done ? The carb in not the orginal 4bl .
    thanks again

    Dan,
I believe 68 and up use the gas pedal mounted switch. The switch is readily available. It mounts on the gas pedal bracket. The pedals in the 65 pivot at the floor, the later models use a pedal that pivots at the firewall. That's the best I can explain it.

The best way to wire your switchpitch is to use a momentary on push button type switch.(like a line lock or trans brake switch) Mount it on your gearshift or other convenient spot. One wire goes to a 12 volt source, the other to the transmission(horizontal connection) When you want high stall(At idle or takeoff) push the switch in. When you want low stall, let it go. Simple as that.
