    So I'm at the carwash yesterday in the Turbo Trans Am. I see a kid pull up in a mean sounding Chevy SS 454 truck with miscellaneous high performance stickers all over it. After he washes the truck he pulls over by my car and says;

    "Nice car"

I say "thanks, nice truck you have there. Looks pretty fast."

    Him "You wanna run 'em?"

Me "Do you even know what this car is?

Him "It looks like an old Trans Am."

I open the hood and ask "You ever see a motor like this in an old Trans Am?"

    Him "??????.....uhhh....no."

Me "You really don't wan to run this car. I tell you what, let me run to the house and get my "slow car" and we'll go run. By the way, what have you done to this truck?"

Him "Cam, no cat with headers, new pulleys, chip. You have another car, what is it?"

Me "It's just an old Buick, you shouldn't have much trouble with it."

So we go to my house and get the GS. He really likes the car, I can tell. I fire it up, and he starts to look apprehensive.

Him "This is your slow car?"

    Me "Yep let's go."

So we go out to the country where we have a nice secluded, long piece of asphalt. the local kids have already marked off an eighth mile marker.

Me "We'll go on the third honk"

I give it three honks and let him take off first. My car spins, as usual, and he jumps out about half a car length on me. I just let my car shift itself (4200rpm) And by the end of second gear, I had caught and passed him by about a half a car length. His truck was pretty fast!

Me "Let's go again, I gott a bad start"

    Him "OK"

Next race I lower my rpm's at launch and manual shift the car. The old Buick just walked away. Beat him by over a car length.

Me "That's a pretty fast truck you have there. Good thing we weren't racing for money, huh?"

Him "Yeah, good thing. I'm gonna get my NOS hooked up and we'll run again."

Me "You do that, and I'll run you in my other car! Later dude."

Another lesson to today's youth. I'm trying to teach these kids something that Momma and Daddy never did. Don't jack with an "Old Buick!"

Actually, that dude sounded pretty cool. A couple of fair races and no cursing or half mile fly-bys. Good kill. New friend????????

Yeah, he was a cool guy. He thought the Buick was very cool. No hard feelings on either part. Later I took him for a ride in the turbo car. He said he was glad he didn't race me in that!

    Buick dominates Chevy......again.

MY FRIEND HAD ONE OF THEM SS 454 TRUCKS, NEVER GOT IT OUT OF THE 15'S. SOLD IT TO HIS DAD WHO USES IT AS A WORK TRUCK. TOOK THE MONEY AND BOUGHT A 01 TRANS AM, NOW HE'S A MUCH HAPPIER DUDE. HE'S SCARED TO RUN MY 70 455 GS BECAUSE HE SAID I HAVE TOO MANY CUBES. I TOLD HIM I WOULD GIVE HIM 2 CAR LENGHS START. IF I KEEP ON HIM HE WILL GIVE IN TO THE PREASURE. ILL LET YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.:TU:
