Squeaks (not mice)

OZGS455 Oh what a wonderful day!

Didn't know which section to ask and already searched body chassis mount squeaks.
Been ignoring it for almost 2 years Ive owned the car .
My Buick had a full body off frame resto in the US, probably a bit over ten years ago.
I have an album of old pix to support this.
When I drive it there's squeaks, now I'm presuming from the rubber isolation pads between the car body and chassis.
I'm thinking that the car has settled on the mounts over time and maybe they need to be re-tensioned down?
Anyone else found this?, or any other ideas?....

Now Ive grown up around and always owned and driven older cars, and learnt to ignore noises rattles and squeaks to a point...well unless I could actually remedy them.
Get a louder exhaust or crank up the radio would be my usual response (particularly if it was someone else's problem)
This is my first car with a separate chassis, well my '47 Buick hearse did have a separate body/chassis/frame but hey I never got it to a drive-able state so can't say.

I could keep ignoring the noises, but hey it's a Buick, a top shelf luxury muscle car...as such it really shouldn't have squeaks, should it.
Now it's probably passed its warranty period so taking it back to my friendly Buick dealer is out of the question.
Only one place I can ask really...and that's right here.
You guys that have done body off frame restos...what do you think???

You might want to check the suspension bushings. Some people installed the urethane ones and they will squeak, that is why some people do not like them.

Did a complete restoration on mine. New bushings everywhere. Had this annoying squeak from the left front side. Thought was a bushing or something on the front end. Messed with it for a while and found out it was one of those rubber hood bumpers. Tried adjusting it, but the squeak would just come back. Finally just took it off... no squeak.

Upper Control arm bushings are notorious for squeaking. If it is the hood bumpers, a little grease on top of them will eliminate it.

Yep the hood bumpers can/will cause an annoying creak (that's different from a squeak:eek:) especially at the rear of the hood. Believe it or not theres quite a bit of side to side movement of the hood at rear of the hood.

Yep, that's where my problem was. I tried greasing it, but it would come back a few days later so I yanked it.

You could also lower the adjustment a bit so its not squished/jammed against the underside of the hood.
The rear height adjustment bumpers are to help support the rear of the hood when closed.
Grease will help for awhile, but if the bumper is to high (squished/jammed) the grease will eventually rub off.
Reinstall the adjuster, then lower it till its just touching the underside of the hood, then a bit of grease on it should be good to go.
