I was curious as to if anybody has tried or has an SPX or SP1 intake manifold from TA Performance. I'm looking into getting a new intake manifold for my 72 Riviera and I'm not sure if either one of these would fit under the hood. With the stock air cleaner and 800 CFM Q-jet carb I have exactly 2 1/2" of hood clearance between the top wingnut and the hood. Both of these intakes look like massive beasts and before I purchase one I wanted to know if one performed better than the other with a q-jet or if I should just take the hit and get a new carburetor and intake. Which intake with which carburetor would you guys recommend for max HP in the long run.

    Thanks, Nick

You're better off getting a B4B or a Performer from Edelbrock..
