Car is sitting pretty low. 6.5" from level ground with standard loading at bottom of front/rear rocker panels. Spec in service manual is 8" and 7.5" for front and back. What replacement springs are you using for big cars?

Rock Auto has Moog, Rockwell, ACDelco and Raybestos part listings at reasonable prices. thx!

I have Moogs in the rear. Stock sagging springs in the front.

What ride height did the Moog springs yield? Chassis manual claims ~7.5" from bottom of rocker panel rear edge to flat ground with standard loading (full tank of gas, spare tire, jack and nothing else). Rocker panel front edge is supposed to be 8"

Not as much spring loss as i originally thought, because i forgot that the original tires were 28.6". with the 27.1" tires i'm 3/4" lower than stock which puts the rear within spec and the front on the low edge of spec.

I cannot give you an honest measurement. I have air shocks on the back.

    As for my previous post.
Stance is great but i think car doesnt have that smoothness it should have. It's not a boat i could think of.Looks like Delco springs aren't that good. They are 0,010 bigger in wire diameter and has 1 less coil,9 instead of 10.Also original spring is square at one end,Delcos aren't.

    What about moogs or Raybestos?

    Peace Kacper.

I am rebuilding the suspension on my 65 Riviera GS and have purchased replacement springs from Eaton Detriot Spring. They built me custom springs that, once installed, will let the car sit slightly higher than stock and will hopefully get rid of that mushy look the Rivieras have. The new springs are approx 3" higher when compared to the old worn springs I took off of the car and should raise the body height of the car 1.5 to 2" over the stock height.

It should look awesome with the 235 70 15 radials that are on it.

I went with Eaton Detriot Spring because they spent the time with me to understand exactly what I was looking for and, of course, their proximity to Flint and the Lodge Freeway doesnt hurt either. They are also advertisers in the Riviera Owners Association magazine.

Do you mean where it looks like the back is squatting lower than the front, but actually isn't?

    ...maybe

Most of the factory picures of the Riviera's show them sitting a bit higher than what I would consider normal. maybe this is due to the tires of the day.

My Riviera has large radial tires unlike the small bia-ply tires that came on the cars originally and, as such, will appear to be sitting a bit lower than usual. Slightly oversized springs should give the car a tougher stance which appeals to me on these larger GM cars. I'm not looking for a rake on the car just a stock look but up slightly higher than stock.

I hope to have some pics for all to see showing the before and after effect of the springs.
