Ok, I've got some springs on the way here (thanks Jon!) to get my car out of the weeds (metal spring helpers in the springs and the car is STILL way lower than my Skylark was with 1" lowering springs), and I'd like to replace the spring isolators/pads while the car is apart.

I found some universal pads at Autozone, but Im not sure what size to get. I can get the correct ones from P-S-T, but I'd rather not deal with shipping since I could just get them from Autozone locally. Especially on a 10 dollar part.

Energy Suspension looks like they make a few different ones...

Mid-way down the list you'll see a few choices. Which ones are correct?

Also, in my research, I've found that originally the factory only used them on the rear springs. IS there any advantage to using them on the fronts as well? The springs are stock springs.

I didnt replace them on my Skylark and the car sat sort of funny afterwards, side to side. If I remember correctly, they were very worn in that car. I dont know their condition in this car.

So, any suggestions or advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Probably going to drop the springs in in the next few weeks (whenever Todd can find time in his schedule, thanks again). That way I can get a few shake down miles in the car before the trip to Yardleys :TU:

Eric I bought mine (for the Rear only) from the parts store they were like $3each. They were a MOOG or TRW part. Call the parts store just my thoughts.

I went to Carquest (who had a guy there that knew what all of the ignition part numbers that I were giving them were off the top of his head) and Napa and neither had any idea what I was talking about. I think I need some better parts stores.

edit: I found on another website, that the energy suspension kit is part number 36108R

and from parts america is 8 bucks at this link

    springs

I just bought a pair for the rear of my 70 225 for 4 bucks plus shipping at Espo springs and things.com. No one else had them. Shipping was very quick and reasonable. Tom

If you are talking about the rears, I believe National Parts Depot had them!

I went to Espo on recommendation by other people on the board but their website leaves something to be desired and I couldn't find them. I guess I'll have to call.

    I'll check National Parts Depot.

I was hoping to get away from ordering a 4 dollar part and paying 6 bucks for shipping when I could get it for 8 locally but we'll see what they say.

    Thanks for everyones help :TU:

    Eric,

I thought I had a used pair I could send forn shipping cost but I can't seem to find them. Are these isolators for your 70 Skylark? Tell NPD it is for a 70 Chevelle. They don't sell Buick parts - 70 Chevelle should be the same.

Rears are TRW part # CC100. You can get them at most auto part stores for about $3 each.
Only use them on the top and I don't believe you are supposed to use any on the front. Energy is probably selling poly ones but new rubber would work just fine.

Thanks for thinking of me, Carl :TU:

Todd: Thanks for that part number. I'll call the local parts store as I need some header/exhaust manifold gaskets too :TU:

Edit: called Parts America and gave them the part numbers that I needed and they will have them ready and waiting for me so I can stop on my way home to pick them up. Thanks everyone :TU:

I believe GM still has them, if it is the ones on top of the rear springs. I got them from my local Buick dealer; I think they were around $ 5.00 each (made in China though).

Huh, wish I would've known that. A friend of mine is the Parts Manager at a GM dealer. Maybe I'll grab some from the dealer while he's still got them. Thanks Len :TU:

I've got the TRW ones waiting in the car :TU:
