I recall a thread (possibly over on BPG?) in which one of the members posted the closest finishes of various parts (interior, exterior, under hood, chassis) with various spray paints. It may have been 7 or so years old (?).

Now, with the warm weather approaching, let's make an UPDATED list of what PRE MIXED spray paints have been found to match original finishes...

Name of the manufacturer (Krylon, Rustoleum, SEM, etc), color (Landau Black, dull aluminum, etc), product number and where to purchase (Ace, Lowes, HD, etc).

I think that was me...and some of those finishes are N/A now. I still use Duplicolor DE1635 Semigloss black for the underhood black parts...and what is left of my collection of DH1608 red.

are you thinking of the sticky above named Firewall forward finishes? Some of the items for detail are spray bombs.

  5. These are all subjective, but look good to me:

Frame- Eastwood Satin Chassis Paint over Eastwood Chassis Primer
Firewall- Rustoleum RTA9203 Semi Flat Black
Underside Hood- Napa Underhood 7242 Black
Back of Fenders- Krylon 51602 Flat Black
Underside of Floorpan- Rustoleum Semigloss 7777
Control Arms, Rear End-Rustoleum Automotive Paint 252465 Black

Nothing beats the real thing such as proper plating and phosphorous finishes, but, Eastwood makes paints that emulates some of those finishes.

I'm using duplicolor semi gloss black (ford) for pulleys and all the black under hood.
