I am going to start the body work on my 68 and need to know how these windows are put in and what is the best way to take them out? I want to take out all the top windows and the rear side windows in the cargo area. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,

I just removed all my top ones but you need to know what you are doing.I suggest you take it somewhere and have them removed.Spending a 100.00 is better than trying to find new glass.I removed mine as i have experience doing it and if you do not I would pay to get it done.........Bruce

Sounds like a plan. How are they put in there? Are there clips or just glued in or how? Thanks,

Is your trim still on?If it is you use a little tool that is made to go under the trim and remove the trim from the clips. If the trim is off they will use a sharp knife made to cut the old sealant all the way around.Once it is all cut it can be removed. You may want to try one yourself if you talk to a glass installer and he can give you some advice on what tools you need.A glass installer will not guarentee you he can remove it all without breaking it,thats how tricky it is..Goodluck and hope it goes good for you........I have seen people use piano wire to go all the way around the glass to cut the old seal also.....

Great. Thanks for the advice. I am not sure what I am going to do yet. I think the guy that is going to do the body work is who I am going to have take them out. I don't really trust the glass shops around here.
